The Dome School

Building Campaign Update (10 July 2015)

First, the not-as-good news: As many of you know by now, we did not reach our goal on our IndieGoGo.com campaign. So we’re still a bit short of our goal of 50% of project costs (to apply for matching funds and to start construction).

Now the good news: We surpassed $20,000 from 97 incredible donors! Plus, we had an outpouring of support from numerous people who didn’t want to have to go to a website and use credit cards, but chose to donate with cash or checks. So beyond the $20k raised on IndieGoGo, we raised more than $11,000 off the website! And on top of that, our 4th of July raised an additional $1000–so thank you to everyone who bought a root beer float, lemonade, popsicle, cookie, and more–or just dropped something in the donation jar.

Yes, we’re approximately $20k short of our $120k goal, but we’ve still been writing grants, talking to interested community members, getting the word out, scheduling benefit events, fine-tuning the building design, and much more. It’s too late to help us on IndieGoGo, but it’s not too late to pass the word to family and friends that we are ploughing ahead with our plans, and donations can still be sent to the school. Thank you all for your continued support!
